This project is part of Ceres Artists in Residence at The Museum of Domestic Design & Architecture (MoDA). The aim of the residency was to use objects from MoDA's collection as a starting point for exploration of natural prints and dyes with the aim of raising the awareness of sustainability in design research.

Design inspired by Chevron design by Enid Marx, 1946.

Design overprinted with different colours and modifiers to obtain a strong change of colour. Small cut out paper stencils to create a camouflage effect to initial arrow design.

Photo, samples front left to right:

• Silk dyed in red cabbage. Screen printed with soda ash.

• Linen dyed with pomegranate skins. Screen printed with buckhorn, indigo and acid citric.

• Wool dyed in red cabbage. Screen printed with buckhorn, indigo, citric acid and madder.

The fabrics were mordanted before the dyeing process.

Pastes were made using plant extracts and modifiers.
