CERES - MoDA Artists in Residence 2019

Textile collective ‘Ceres’ were Artists in Residence at the Museum of Domestic Design & Architecture (MoDA) in 2019.
‘Ceres‘ – Lara Mantell, Florence Hawkins and Zoë Burt – are a trio of eco-conscious designers, with expert knowledge in dyeing and printing natural dyes onto fabric and paper. They are particularly interested in natural dyes, and their work often involves foraging for plants, linking plants, people, pattern and design.
Ceres visited MoDA several times, and were especially interested in MoDA's dye book, which features an array of coloured textile samples along with pencilled notations about chemical formulae.
Lara, Florence and Zoë gathered lots of ideas and developed their own textile designs inspired by MoDA’s collections.
